Wild rocket is native to the Mediterranean region, and was a popular salad plant in ancient Rome—still sometimes referred to as “Roman rocket”. Part of a typical Roman meal was a salad of greens, frequently wild rocket, romaine, chicory, and lavender seasoned with a cheese sauce.
Wild rocket or Rocket, is a very low-calorie vegetable. Nonetheless, it has many vital phytochemicals, anti-oxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Fresh leaves are exceptionally high in vitamins A and C, calcium, iron and folic acid.
